Italian restaurants, sub shops, calzone counters and Italian delis sit next to the pizzerias on this site because most of them bake pizza too, often from the same dough. Full-service Italian restaurants take reservations for dinner, add a tip line for table service (15-20% is customary) and usually run a cheaper lunch menu on weekdays. Sub and sandwich shops are counter-order and quick, with sizes by the inch or in half and whole lengths. Calzones and strombolis are priced like a medium pizza and are large enough to share. Italian delis and bakeries sell by weight and by the piece, and many close mid-afternoon.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 11 am–9 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (980) 201-9853. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, ardentekitchen.com.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.5 out of 5 from 70 reviews, which is a strong result for an italian restaurant in Charlotte and suggests consistent service.

Charlotte is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Charlotte is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Absolutely delicious food and cocktails. Also loved the take and bake options.

I had wanted to try this place since it opened and finally got here! We ordered a pizza as kind of an appetizer. The flavor was good, but the crust didn’t hold up the toppings. Maybe there was too much cheese and sauce, but it made it a knife and forker. The pasta was excellent. We got the radiatore with the ragu. So, so good. Then for a bit of vegetable we chose the Brussels sprouts. They were really good with chunks of thick bacon and just a bit of char. The vibe is definitely a market with a bar and some tables. It looks like they do quite a bit of take out, too. It wasn’t too crowded when we were there (mid week) and the service was good.

Just want to make sure no one else gets fooled by the 15$ β€œprosciutto, soppressata, capocollo, housemade mozzarella, fire roasted tomato, red wine vinegar, evoo” on the menu because there were 2 slices of meat on this whole sandwich. It wasn’t terrible so i gave 2 stars but definitely not worth the price at those portions

I was shocked at how bad the food was. I ordered a carbonara and it was just chunks of egg and pasta water with noddles. The other dish was equally as bad and the calamari just tasted like oil. I wish I asked for a full refund of the entire order.

Had the best time trying as much as we could at the soft opening for Ardente. We really loved everything. Food texture and flavor were all just right! I loved the hot honey wood fired pizza and the eggplant Parmesan was so tasty I ate it before remembering to take a picture! I also enjoyed a refreshing lemon spritz and had castagnole for dessert. Authentic Italian with super attentive, friendly service and the space was really inviting. Highly recommend checking this out when they open!
